Celebrate the New Year at Celebration Square
We’re only a few days away from Christmas, which can mean only one thing – it’s time to start planning your New Year’s Eve celebrations! And what better place to ring in the New Year than Mississauga’s own Celebration Square. Be there for the all ages event December 31st and enjoy a night full of entertainment, including a DJ video skate party on the city’s largest outdoor ice rink. Mississauga’s DJ Zedvantz and DJ Audiowise will start the night off spinning with some slamming beats beginning at 8 pm. Plus, the Mississauga Arts Council’s Limelight Block Party will be showcasing some of their top talent, including local musicians, spoken word poets and live graffiti art. Juno Award nominees The New Cities take the stage at 10pm, followed by pop-sensation Stereos who will be counting everyone down to midnight! Let the tree
lighting begin.
Spectacular lights. Ice skating. Great musical performances. These are just a few of the things you’ll experience when you attend the Mississauga Tree Lighting Celebration. Being held November 26th at Celebration Square, this year’s event will have fun and festive activities for the whole family. Sit on Santa’s lap, go ice skating on the new indoor rink or make delicious gingerbread crafts. With so much to do, it will be hard to choose! Pop sensation Victoria Duffield will open the night for performances by NEVEREST who will be playing hits from their new album “About Us”. Plus, learn how to “Dougie” when the Mississauga Culture Division Recital Dance Program takes over the square with a giant dancing flash mob. The celebration runs from 7 to 10 pm and attendance is free so bring plenty of Christmas spirit and warm clothes! COMMENT...

The holiday countdown has begun.
It’s only been a few days since Halloween, but many Mississaugans are starting to gear up for the fast-approaching holiday season. If you like to get a head start on the holiday rush, you have to check out the 7th Annual Seasons Christmas Show. Running from November 18-20 at Mississauga’s International Centre, the Seasons Christmas Show has everything you need for holiday entertaining, decorating and gift-giving. This year’s special guests include Lynn Spence of City Line, Frank Ferragine (affectionately known as Frankie Flowers) of Breakfast Television, Jane Lockhart of Colour Confidential and Kary Osmond of the CBC’s Best Recipes Ever. There will be cooking and decorating demonstrations, cheese tasting seminars and a silent auction in support of the Peel Children’s Aid Foundation.
